PLAIN-LANGUAGE DEFINITION
Shot list
A shot list names the footage a production needs to capture.
IN PRACTICE
An example
Front view, zipper detail and a continuous packing shot are separate coverage items.
What this does not tell you
A list without framing or action notes may leave the crew guessing.
Use the term precisely
When you use this term in a brief or report, include the relevant source, scope and assumptions. An example explains the concept; it is not a benchmark or a promise of results.
